Hi, I’m Gabi

A proud mom of two beautiful little girls, wife to my love (Paulo), an entrepreneur, a health and wellness coach, a makeup artist, a passionate organizer and an unshakable optimist dedicated to helping you become the person you most want to be.

My wellness journey began following the birth of my daughters. Like many women I was happy and complete having a beautiful family and a satisfying professional life.

I was also struggling with weight loss following my second pregnancy and this began to negatively affect me. I found myself often feeling depressed, in a bad mood, and my self-esteem began to slide. I have always been a dynamic person, very enthusiastic, positive and always motivated to take on a new challenge. Throughout my professional career, my focus has been on providing strong leadership with a results-oriented approach. My background in fashion retail and beauty required strong personal branding that was representative of my career environment. Over time, my lack of energy and the unwanted weight was making me feel like a failure. That is when it all happened.

I decided it was time to do something significant, to take control of my personal emotional and physical wellness. This was not an overnight process, but rather a commitment that has taken me a few years to achieve. I began by doing extensive research on a variety of diet plans and wellness approaches. I had tried many diets that did not work for me. I was determined to find a sustainable lifestyle that would be a good fit. This led me to adopting the ketogenic lifestyle, an action that has changed my life, and that of my family. It came at a time when I needed it the most, and it has transformed me back to the healthy, energetic and optimistic person that defines me. My personal health is at its best, and I have regained my self-esteem. Friends and colleagues started to ask me about my noticeable transformation and I began helping others to learn about the ketogenic lifestyle. Motivated and energized by these interactions, I decided to seek professional certification to become a health and wellness coach.

I am now certified by the National Academy of Sports and Medicine (NASM), the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and the Canadian Fitness Professionals (Canfitpro). It has been extremely rewarding for me to see the positive impact that my coaching and expertise has had on my clients’ health and self-love.

My mission is to inspire, motivate and simplify the lives of my clients and help them feel their best to conquer their dreams.

Let's take a look at our diet protocol

Wait, so is it Atkins? So it’s like Paleo? OMG, it’s the bacon and butter diet and you’re going to die of a heart attack! My dear friend and fellow Keto-er, these are the same questions I get when people start asking me about my love of ketogenic living.

Ketosis, or “keto”, is a natural state for the body in which it becomes almost completely fueled by fat by eating a ketogenic diet: low carb, moderate protein, and lots of healthy fats. As babies, we are all born in a state of ketosis and remain that way until we begin eating solid foods (breast milk is almost entirely fat!) We also dip into a state of ketosis when we enter prolonged periods of not eating, or fasting, including while we are asleep. It is highly likely that your body already wakes up in a ketogenic state! While in ketosis, the body produces ketones. These small molecules are used as fuel when we have depleted our glucose (a.k.a. blood sugar) supply. Ketones are produced in the liver from fat, as we eat very few carbs and a moderate amount of protein. The entire body – including the brain – consumes ketones as fuel.

Ketones provide sustainable energy, unlike carbohydrates, which are metabolized into glucose to give the body a burst of energy, spiking your insulin levels and then crashing later. Glucose is burned up quickly, leaving the body depleted of energy while leftover glycogen stores itself in the liver, or as triglycerides in fat cells. Without carbs, the body will quickly deplete its glycogen and will begin using fat for energy. Fat comes from the foods we eat as well as the stored fat – the triglycerides – in our cells. Those of us who follow a ketogenic lifestyle switch our fuel sources back to the way we were born: we run almost entirely on fat. Insulin hormones dip to low levels and we rapidly burn stored fat for fuel.

Outside of weight loss, we ketonians experience sustained energy, mental focus, exercise endurance, and a bevy of other health benefits such as preventing, treating, and curing chronic illness and life-threatening disease. To put it simply: eat fat to burn fat… Healthy Fats. Healthy Life!
